1892: Columbus Quadrocentennial Celebration

In 1892, the Connecticut Knights of Columbus threw a party for the ages as they celebrated the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to America. The parade in New Have, CT was estimated to have 6,000 men, 65 councils, and 36 brass bands from around the state.
